Overview

Historically, the brain was thought to be segregated in its functions: language area, face area, visual cortex. Whilst true to an extent, this is not the whole story, and connections between the parts of your brain that have typically been thought of as independent have led to unexpected, unpredicatable, and (mostly) unwelcome consequences across a broad array of cognitive and motor functions. This talk intends to use what we know about networks of the brain and the methods with which we explore them to possibly answer a whole host of questions, most importantly: Why can I speak German better after two pints?
